Cuando se tira o se estira algo se dice que está en tensión (largas y delgadas). Cuando se aprieta o se comprime algo se dice que está en compresión (cortas y gruesas).
Esfuerzo: Es la fuerza externa que actúa sobre un cuerpo por unidad de área de sección transversal, es decir, se aplica al material por fuerzas externas. Es una Magnitud Tensorial. Se expresa en Pascal (N/m2)
Deformación: Es la razón entre el cambio en longitud y la longitud original, es decir, es la respuesta del material al esfuerzo. Es  el cambio del tamaño y la forma de un cuerpo debido a la aplicación de una o más fuerzas sobre el mismo.

!ENFERMEDADES GENÉTICAS RELACIONADAS CON EL METABOLISMO DEL GLUCÓGENO

Estas enfermedades se deben a trastornos genéticos que determinan ausencia o disminución marcada de una determinada actividad enzimática relacionada con las vías de síntesis o degradación de glucógeno.  
Genéricamente se les denomina Glucogenosis y se caracterizan por la acúmulo de cantidades anormalmente elevadas de glucógeno en tejidos, o por la presencia de glucógeno de estructura anómala.
Se han descrito más de diez tipos de glucogenosis debidas a deficiencias de diferentes enzimas. Por ejemplo, se describió primero la enfermedad de Von Gierke o glucogenosis Tipo I, caracterizada por depósitos excesivos de glucógeno en hígado y riñón. El glucógeno se sintetiza normalmente, pero hay una falla en la glucogenólisis que impide la liberación de glucosa a partir de estos depósitos. Hay ausencia o disminución de glucosa 6 fosfatasa en hígado y riñón.
En la enfermedad de pompe o glucogenosis tipo II, la enzima deficiente es α-(1,4)-glucosidasa lisosomal, y se produce una acumulación de glucógeno en lisosomas; glucemia normal, afecta principalmente al corazón, muerte temprana.

!FE Y CULTURA
Cultura es todo aquello que el hombre crea y hace con su entendimiento y su habilidad a lo largo de la historia. Existe entre religión y cultura una cierta afinidad. En sus orígenes, casi todas las creaciones culturales nacieron en un contexto religioso y casi siempre con una inspiración religiosa. Por otra parte, tampoco la religión puede dejar de estar envuelta en la cultura, pues cultura es el marco general que envuelve la vida expresiva y consciente de los hombres; nada hay que pueda desarrollarse al margen de ella. Esta asociación entre fe y cultura se da intensamente en las religiones nacidas del
esfuerzo del hombre por expresar el sentido último de su vida. Sin embargo, en la fe cristiana se da algo que hace más complicada esta relación. La fe cristiana nace, evidentemente, dentro de una cultura, pero nace por iniciativa de Dios y trata de abrir a los hombres la posibilidad de referirse a Dios como algo superior a toda imagen cultural. La fe cristiana vive inserta en la cultura, pero en su realidad más íntima no nace de ninguna cultura humana. Por eso, Cristo proclama la absoluta independencia de la vida religiosa respecto de cualquier institución o autoridad humana.
La fe cristiana puede vivir en todas las culturas y no puede instalarse definitivamente en ninguna. A pesar de todo, la fe no puede menos de vivir inserta en una cultura, pero para no deformarse tiene que estar revisando continuamente sus propias expresiones de modo que manifiesten el hecho trascendente de la presencia de Dios, de su gracia, de sus exigencias y sus promesas. Puede vivir en
todas las épocas y en todas las culturas porque no vive plenamente identificada con ninguna. Y en esta tensión consiste el mayor servicio que la fe hace a la cultura como actividad humana, obligándola a revisarse continuamente, a entablar relaciones con otras culturas igualmente respetables, a enriquecerse sin cesar hasta poder abarcar todos los aspectos creativos de la humanidad entera.
